Dr Komsan Srivisut joined the faculty of the School of Computer Engineering at Suranaree University of Technology in March 2021. An accomplished scholar, he read for his PhD at the University of York, United Kingdom, under the eminent supervision of Professor John Clark and Professor Richard Paige. His doctoral candidacy was distinguished by a prestigious studentship, fully funded by the Royal Thai Government’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).
During his tenure at York, Dr Srivisut’s research was an integral component of the Dynamic Adaptive Automated Software Engineering (DAASE) programme — a flagship initiative supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). His work sought to reconcile the intricacies of temporal behaviour within multithreaded applications on safety-critical multi-core architectures. By pioneering the deployment of sophisticated metaheuristics and hyper-heuristics, his research offered transformative insights into heuristic optimisation. In recognition of its scholarly excellence and impact, his dissertation was bestowed with the 2020 PhD Thesis Award by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).
Dr Srivisut’s current research trajectory is defined by a rigorous synthesis of Software Engineering, Evolutionary Computation, and Applied AI and Deep Learning. He is deeply committed to translating these sophisticated theoretical frameworks into robust, real-world solutions. His work aims to address multifaceted challenges across critical domains, including Telemedicine, Transportation and Logistics, Agricultural Technology (AgTech), and Disaster Informatics, ensuring that computational innovation yields tangible societal benefits.
