Komsan Srivisut has been a Lecturer at the School of Computer Engineering, Suranaree University of Technology, since March 2021. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of York, UK. His doctoral studentship was fully funded by the Royal Thai Government, particularly the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).
His PhD research aimed to verify the temporal behaviour of multithreaded applications—running on a safety-critical multi-core platform—by applying heuristic optimisation techniques, namely metaheuristics and hyper-heuristics. Such doctoral research was part of the Dynamic Adaptive Automated Software Engineering (DASSE) project granted by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). His doctoral thesis was also honoured with the 2020 PhD Thesis Award by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).
His primary research interests include metaheuristics, hyperheuristics, evolutionary computation, and their applications to tackle real-world problems, especially in software engineering and the life and medical sciences.
