ศึกษาเทคโนโลยีต่างๆ ที่ใช้ในการส่งต่อเสียงผ่านโครงข่ายไอพี โดยเน้นไปที่การแปลงสัญญาณเสียงเป็นดิจิตอล การแบ่งเสียงเป็นแพ็กเก็ต และระบบมัลติมีเดียรองรับ มาตรฐานและโพรโตคอล VoIP เช่น SIP และ H.323 ที่ใช้ในการสร้างระบบโทรศัพท์โดยใช้แอปพลิเคชัน VoIP ขั้นสูง พื้นฐานของเสียงและวิดีโอผ่าน IP เช่นคุณภาพการให้บริการ ปัญหาการรวมรวมทราฟิก การจัดการแบนด์วิธ และการประเมินโครงข่าย

Voice over IP
Prerequisite : ENG27 2303 Data Communication and Networks
This course examines technologies that carry voice communications over an IP network, including digitization and packetization of voice streams and multimedia subsystems. Coursework addresses VoIP standards and protocols such as SIP and H.323 that support creation of telephony systems using advanced VoIP technology applications. Fundamentals of voice and video over IP, such as QoS, traffic aggregation issues, bandwidth management, and network assessment, are also investigated.
