Unit Operations in Pharmaceutical Processing

Prerequisite : Consent of the School

Design, development, and scale-up of unit operations in pharmaceutical processing including granulation and compaction, filtration, sieving, drying, particle size reduction and
measurement of the size distribution, mixing and agitation, encapsulation, coating, sterilization and pasteurization.

Course Outline

1. Granulation and compaction. (5 hr.)
2. Filtration. (3 hr.)
3. Sieving. (3 hr.)
4. Drying. (4 hr.)
5. Particle size reduction and measurement of the size distribution. (4 hr.)
6. Mixing and agitation. (4 hr.)
7. Encapsulation. (5 hr.)
8. Coating. (5 hr.)
9. Sterilization and pasteurization. (3 hr.)
