Subsurface Geology
Prerequisite: ENG34 2104 Structural Geology
Principles of subsurface geology, interpreting the subsurface geological structures, analyzing reservoirs from borehole and geophysical data, comparing subsurface geological data, preparing, and creating subsurface geological maps, and illustrating subsurface geological structures.
Learning outcomes
- Explain the fundamental principles of subsurface geology.
- Identify the types of evidence used in the study of subsurface geology.
- Integrate knowledge in the fields of science, engineering, subsurface geology, and the subsurface geology structure.
- Analyze and interpret the meaning of subsurface geological structures and the environmental conditions of sedimentary basins.
- Classify types of subsurface geological maps and create subsurface maps to illustrate geological structures.
- Research and acquire additional knowledge about sedimentary basin environments and present findings in both report and oral presentation formats.
