Steel and Temporary Structure
Prerequisite: ENG59 2207 Engineering Statics and Mechanics of Materials Design of steel and timber structures; tension and compression members; beams, beam-columns, built-up member, temporary and retaining in excavation and foundation work, plate girders, design of wooden beams and columns, wood and steel connections, ASD and LRFD
methods.
Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
1. Understand design philosophies, basic, design methods and demonstrate the application of standard for designing timber and steel members and temporary structures.
2. Use the new technology tools for structural design.
3. Develop decision making skill and manage good environment for freedom thinking to support efficient teamwork of students.
