Sensors and Actuators in Industrial Automation System

Prerequisite : ENG35 2005 Basic Electronics for Manufacturing Engineering

The actuators and sensors are key components in industrial automation system. Where sensors are crucial for giving feedback to the system and actuators responsible for controlling the system. This course focus on using both analog and digital sensors in the industrial automation system and understanding the fundamental of motion control with electric motors and pneumatic system.

Learning Outcomes

1. Understand and explain the fundamental motion control system.
2. Explain the fundamental and limitations of difference type of industrial sensors.
3. Explain the difference between digital and analog sensors and actuators.
4. Demonstrate electrical wiring skill for industrial sensors and actuators.
5. Select appropriate sensors and actuators according to requirements or limitations.
