Rice Mill Engineering

Prerequisite:  ENG21 3102 Agricultural Process Engineering or ENG21 3202 Principles of Food Process Engineering I

Physical properties of rice; design of rice mill systems; design of rice mill machinery; cleaning and hulling of paddy; separation of rice husks; whitening and polishing; grading of milled rice; packaging; rice quality testing equipment.

Learning outcomes

1. Explain the physical properties of rice and rice milling process.
2. Design of rice mill systems, including design of rice mill machinery.
3. Operate, adjust, and solving problems in the rice milling process.
