Petroleum Engineering and Geotechnology Excursion

Prerequisite: ENG34 2103 Petroleum Industry, and ENG34 2104 Structural Geology

Field studies related to geology, and petroleum geology such as hydrocarbon source rocks and petroleum reservoir rocks. Visits to petroleum-related facilities and activities in the petroleum industry, including upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. For instance, petroleum exploration, drilling and production platforms, petroleum production stations, gas separation plants, and oil refineries.

Learning outcomes

1. Understand and explain about geology, petroleum geology, and the petroleum industry.
2. Develop skills and experience in visiting petroleum industries.
3. Recognize relevant professional ethics and environmental impacts in visiting petroleum industries.
4. Present works in report formats.
5. Follow the rules and course requirements and be responsible for assigned tasks.
