Operation Management
Prerequisite: None
Introduction to the concepts, principles, problems, and practices of operations management. Emphasis is on managerial processes for effective operations in both goods-producing and service-rendering organization. Topics include operations strategy, process design, master production scheduling, capacity planning, line balancing and supply chain management.
Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs):
- Explain the importance of an effective production and operations strategy to an organization.
- Explain the various production/service and operations design decisions and how they relate to the overall strategies of organizations.
- Explain and apply the relationship of the various planning practices of capacity planning, master production scheduling.
- Discuss the goal of supply chain management and its application in a variety of organizational settings.
- Classify operation management of the case study organization.
