Materials Characterization

Prerequisite : ENG31 2102 Physical Metallurgy

Principle of chemical analysis and spectroscopy; Phase and crystal structure analysis by X-ray diffraction technique; Microstructural characterization using electron microscopy; Chemical microanalysis

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

1. Define the components and functions of advanced characterization tools
2. Select proper tools to solve common problems of materials characterization
3. Interpret the obtained data from advanced characterization tools by applying the fundamental metallurgical engineering knowledge
