Materials and Manufacturing Processes

Prerequisite : ENG31 1001 Engineering Materials

Fundamentals of manufacturing processes: casting and molding; forming; machining; welding and joining; powder metallurgy; heat treatment; surface finishing; selection of materials relative to the design and choice of manufacturing processes

Learning Outcomes

1. Analyse the strengths and limitations of materials and manufacturing processes. (PI = 2.1)
2. Design the sequence of manufacturing processes to be able to produce workpieces according to design requirements. (PI = 2.2)
3. Consider economy, society, environment, and sustainable development in selecting manufacturing methods. (PI = 2.3)
