Manufacturing of Metal Parts and Structures II

Prerequisite: None

Assembly of metal parts; basic of materials welding; welding processes; distortion in welding; distortion management; the change in materials structures due to welding; welding
defects; welding drawing; assembly by mechanical fastening fitting; strength of assembly; application of finite element software for simulating part assembly.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs):

1. Explain principles and differences of various welding processes.
2. Identify welding defects and explain methods for reduction and prevention of defects.
3. Explain basic principles of part assembly by various mechanical fastening techniques.
4. Apply computer software to simulate part assembly in a basic level.
