Lean Manufacturing

Prerequisite : ENG33 2302 Work Study

Concepts and principles of lean production, history and evolution of lean principles, value stream mapping, 5S, just-in-time production, kaizen (continuous improvement), and the implementation of lean tools in various manufacturing settings. Students will learn how to identify inefficiencies, streamline operations, and implement lean strategies to improve quality, efficiency, and flexibility in production processes.

1. Explain the core principles of lean manufacturing, including the identification and elimination of waste.
2. Analyze manufacturing processes using value stream mapping to identify areas for improvement.
