Introduction to Manufacturing Processes

Prerequisite:   none

Theories and concepts of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, foundry and heat treatment; manufacturing processes for various types of materials; basic principles of manufacturing cost; use of handtools.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

1. Describe the production process, such as machine processing, metal casting, basic principles of production cost. and using essential machine tools.
2. Explain the differences between different metal welding methods and the properties of varying heat-treated metals.
