Industrial Pollution Control and Waste Treatment
Prerequisite: Consent of the school
Environmental impact of industrial pollution. Environmental quality standards. Sources and characteristics of industrial pollutions. Controls and treatments of air and noise pollution, industrial waste water. Management and disposals of solid waste and hazardous waste. Reduction and recycle of industrial wastes. Environmental laws and standard of ISO14000 and ISO18000.
Learning outcomes
- To effectively apply the calculation and design the system for pollution control and waste treatment of air pollution, waste water and noise pollution. (PLO 2)
- To effectively apply the selection and design the management and disposal of solid waste and hazardous waste. (PLO 2)
- To effectively apply the methods to solve the problems relating to industrial pollution and wastes, to making the solution involves considerations of economics, environment, safety and sustainable development. (PLO 3)
- To understand the importance and ways of laws related to industrial pollution control, ISO14000 and ISO18000. (PLO 6)
