Prerequisite: ENG29 2143 Electrical Machines

Introduction to industrial control, analog signal conditioning, digital signal conditioning, sensor and transducers, analog controllers, digital controllers, sequence control, programmable logic control (PLC), PLC programming, PLC interface, PLC application in automation systems, power factor correction, energy management and conservation, harmonic and elimination techniques, process control and equipment.

Learning outcomes

Know and understand fundamental of industrial controls.
Able to explain fundamental of sensor and transducer operations, motor control in industrial and automation.
Understand principle of energy conservation and management, harmonics and cancellation.
