Formwork Concrete Design
Prerequisite : ENG30 3016 Reinforced Concrete Design I
This course focuses on providing knowledge and skills in concrete formwork design, which is crucial for constructing high-quality and safe concrete structures. Students will learn about the materials used in formwork, the design and calculation of formwork as well as techniques for installing and dismantling formwork.
Learning Outcomes
- Students can explain the importance and types of concrete formwork, including the materials used in formwork construction.
- Students can accurately design and calculate concrete formwork, considering the forces applied and the safety of the structure.
- Students can correctly and safely install and dismantle concrete formwork using appropriate techniques.
- Students can inspect the strength and safety of concrete formwork and develop maintenance plans for future use.
