Drilling Engineering

Prerequisite: ENG25 2080 Fluid Mechanics I

Study all process to drill the petroleum well by rotary drilling rig as drilling operation, casing and cement operation, well testing during the drilling a well. Study the function and composition of drilling fluid. Design the drilling hydraulic for drilling a well. Study the process of well planning and the introduction to direction drilling.

Learning outcomes

1. Understand and explain the process to drill petroleum well by rotary drilling rig.
2. Understand and explain the function and composition of drilling fluid.
3. Can calculate the hydraulic pump HP of rig for petroleum well drilling.
4. Understand and explain the overview of directional drilling.
5. Follow the rules and course requirements and be responsible for assigned tasks.
