Waste problems and pollution from agricultural and food production; waste analysis; waste treatment methods; solid waste treatment; characteristics of wastewater from agricultural and food factories; sources of toxicity; acceptable limit of wastewater inspection techniques; primary and secondary treatments; control of toxicity in water resources.

Learning outcomes

1. Describe methods of waste management in agricultural production and food industry.
2. Describe factors as well as choose an appropriate method in controlling wastes.
3. Design basic wastewater treatment systems to control pollutions prior to discharge to an environment.
