Polymer Extrusion
Prerequisite : ENG83 3115 Polymer Rheology and Processing
Extruder type, extruder hardware, process analysis, screw type, twin screw extruder, sheet and cast film, blown film, pipe and tubing extrusion, profile extrusion, wire and cable coating, melt spinning, co-extrusion, troubleshooting extrusion process.
Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
- Be able to explain types of extruder, hardware of extruder, types of screw, types and application of twin screw extruder, types of die
- Be able to analyze extrusion process
- Be able to choose suitable types of extruder for applications
- Be able to troubleshoot in basic polymer extrusion
- Be able to analyze, literature search and depict specified polymer extrusion and present the obtained solution
