Rubber Composites
Prerequisite : none
Natural rubber, synthetic rubber, and thermoplastic elastomer. Preparation technique for rubber composites. Carbon black and silica for industrial reinforcement. Tire technology and related mechanical testing.
Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
- Able to select raw materials, reinforcing fillers, modification for rubber composite products.
- Able to describe mixing step and cure characteristic. Ability to estimate fill factor and compare between each type of vulcanization.
- Able to explain tire technology and identify tire component, processing, testing, and characterization.
