ประวัติความเป็นมาและวิวัฒนาการของวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ องค์กรวิชาชีพที่เกี่ยวข้อง จรรยาบรรณวิศวกร ความปลอดภัยในงานวิศวกรรม แนะนำวิชาชีพทางด้านวิศวกรรมจากหลักสูตรต่าง ๆ โดยนักศึกษาต้องเข้าร่วมอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการของหลักสูตรต่าง ๆ ที่เปิดสอนในสำนักวิชาวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ให้ได้อย่างน้อย 8 ครั้ง

ผลสัมฤทธิ์การเรียนรู้

                    เมื่อสิ้นสุดการเรียนรายวิชานี้ นักศึกษาจะมีความสามารถด้านต่าง ๆ ต่อไปนี้

1. สามารถอธิบายจรรยาบรรณวิศวกรได้
2. สามารถอธิบายความสำคัญของความปลอดภัยในงานวิศวกรรมได้
3. เข้าใจวิชาชีพด้านวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ของสาขาวิชาต่างๆ
4. สามารถระบุสาขาวิชาวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ที่นักศึกษาสนใจเลือกศึกษาต่อในอนาคตได้

Introduction to Engineering Profession      

Prerequisite:  none

History and evolution of engineering; related professional engineering organizations; ethics in engineering profession; safety in engineering work; introduction to various offered fields. Student are required to attend at least 8 engineering curriculum workshops in the Institute of Engineering.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Able to explain ethics of engineering profession.
2. Able to explain importance of safety in engineering work.
3. Able to understand engineering professions in various fields.
4. Able to choose engineering discipline of interest to pursue study.
