Prerequisite : None

Hardware and internal architecture; input- output devices; input- output processing; ladder and functional block programming; internal relays; jump and call; timers; counters; sequencer; shift registers; data handling; closed- loop control; fault finding; safety systems; examples of controlling tasks with PLC.

Learning Outcomes

1. Design PLC-based systems in accordance with professional electrical engineering standards. (SPLO 2.1)
2. Troubleshoot and identify solutions for PLC-based applications. (SPLO 2.3)
3. Demonstrate the ability to design PLC control programs to solve engineering control problems. (SPLO 2.2)
